Social Housing & Supported Living

Stable, compliant homes for people who need them — with clear consent from every landlord we work with.

Social Housing Explained

Social Housing provides secure, affordable accommodation for people who may struggle to access the private rented sector — including those supported by councils, housing associations, or specialist providers.

At WeLeaseHouses, leased properties across the East Midlands may be used for this purpose. We place and manage occupants, maintain standards, and keep properties compliant for the full term of the arrangement.

Supported Living Explained

Supported Living helps people who need additional support to live independently — for example adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or those leaving care or temporary accommodation.

Properties may be used as shared or self-contained homes with support provided by specialist agencies. WeLeaseHouses manages the property, occupancy, and compliance; support providers focus on the people living there.

As with social housing placements, you retain ownership and deal with us as your single corporate tenant for the lease term.

How Leased Properties Are Used

Properties leased to WeLeaseHouses may be used for Social Housing or Supported Living. We manage all occupants and compliance for the lease term.

You retain ownership throughout. WeLeaseHouses or an approved partner takes the lease; we are responsible for who lives in the property, how it is maintained, and that it meets the standards required for social housing or supported living use.

Stable Housing, Professionally Run

Longer-Term Occupation

Social housing and supported living prioritise stable tenancies — reducing churn and keeping communities settled.

Compliance & Standards

HMO licensing, fire safety, gas and electrical certificates, and property condition are managed to the standards required for occupied housing.

Supported Placements

Properties may house individuals or households placed through councils, providers, or referral routes — with WeLeaseHouses handling day-to-day management.

East Midlands Focus

We work with landlords across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, and surrounding areas.

What Landlords Agree To

Every landlord who registers a property with WeLeaseHouses must confirm they understand and agree to Social Housing or Supported Living use for the duration of the lease.

That consent is recorded at registration and reviewed as part of our property assessment. If you are not comfortable with this use, our model is unlikely to be suitable for your property.

Registration Consent

I understand and agree that my property may be used for Social Housing or Supported Living purposes for the duration of the corporate lease.

Is Your Property Suitable?

We consider houses, flats, bungalows, terraced homes, and HMOs. Properties should be in good condition and located within our East Midlands coverage area.

  • Comfortable with social housing or supported living use
  • Property meets basic safety and habitability standards
  • Willing to grant a corporate lease to WeLeaseHouses or an approved partner
  • Prefer a professional partner to manage occupants directly

This page describes how properties may be used for social housing and supported living under arrangements with WeLeaseHouses. Specific use, licensing, and lease terms depend on individual circumstances and formal agreement. Seek independent legal advice before signing any lease.
