Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions from landlords considering a corporate lease.
Who will be the tenant on a corporate lease?
Depending on your property and location, the corporate tenant will be WeLeaseHouses directly or one of our approved partner companies. You always deal with us as your point of contact — never individual renters on assured periodic tenancies.
How long can I lease my property to you?
We offer fixed corporate leases of 2, 3, or 5 years. The term is agreed upfront and runs for the full duration of the lease.
How is this different from a standard APT?
With a standard APT (Assured Periodic Tenancy), you let to individual tenants under residential tenancy law. With us, you lease to our company on a contractual agreement — a business-to-business arrangement outside the APT framework.
Does the Renters' Rights Act apply?
The Renters' Rights Act governs assured periodic tenancies between landlords and individual tenants. Your lease with us is a corporate lease, which is a different legal relationship. See our Renters' Rights Act page for full details.
What rent will you pay?
Rent depends on property type, location, condition, and lease term. After you register, we assess your property and provide a tailored offer — typically competitive with local market rates.
Who handles maintenance and repairs?
We do. For the duration of the lease, maintenance, compliance, and day-to-day management are our responsibility.
What areas do you cover?
We lease residential properties across the East Midlands, including Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, and Rutland. See our Areas We Cover page for more detail.
Can I lease multiple properties?
Yes. We work with portfolio landlords and can structure consistent terms across multiple properties. Register via our contact form and tell us how many properties you hold.
What happens at the end of the lease?
Your property is returned in an agreed condition. Many landlords choose to renew for a further term.
